Our Mission Is Making College Affordable
No wonder we've had so many Armed Forces graduates.
At American Public University, we believe in educating, inspiring and making dreams come true for the many, not just the few. That’s why we offer financial assistance and everything else to make your transition from military base to virtual campus as seamless and affordable as possible. Just one small way we can thank you for your service.
Thanks to the University Book Grant, all undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students will receive no-cost ebooks. A hard-copy textbook is provided if an ebook is not available. Some programs will have additional course material costs not covered by the University Book Grant. Simply select the course in your Academic Plan to review the required materials.
- Select Register Now at the top of your ecampus to get started
- Select your course and start date
- Review the Attendance Requirement and Military TA Disclosure Policy
- Verify your Contact Information

All school documentation such as your Academic Plan, also referred to as your Degree Plan, has to be uploaded prior to requesting TA funding. Your ESO cannot approve your TA Application without this documentation.
Visit the Coast Guard TA website, click the link for MyCG Ed, and log in.
Input the course information from your American Public University registration. Ensure that the start and end dates match. Only list one course per TA Application. Your TA Application needs to be submitted and command approved 14 days before your course start date. Once submitted, your application will then be sent to your ESO for approval.
CG Reservists - Always check with an ESO or Education Office to determine eligibility for TA. The process is the same if eligible.
After your command approves and the education center authorizes your TA Application, a TA Authorization Form/Voucher is generated. This can be found under “Existing Applications” in your WebTA portal. The TA Authorization Form/Voucher required is ETQC Form 1560.
Access the Secure Document Portal, log in, then upload your signed TA Authorization Form/Voucher. You can also email a copy to [email protected].
