Conferral Dates
Your conferral date is the date on which your degree is officially awarded. Due to outstanding financial obligations, grade appeals, or established conferral schedules, you may actually complete all the coursework for your degree months before your degree is officially conferred.
The university holds six conferrals each year:
- February 1
- April 1
- June 1
- August 1
- October 1
- December 1
Your conferral date will be granted after you have completed all your courses, including any comprehensive exams or end-of-course assessments, and have met these requirements:
- Fulfilled all course requirements in your program within the program completion deadlines.
- Fulfilled all course requirements within 150% of courses attempted vs. courses successfully passed.
- Have a GPA of 2.0 if you are in an undergraduate program or 3.0 if you are in a graduate program.
- Applying for graduation and passed an academic review of your courses.
- Have no outstanding financial balances.
- You will receive a congratulations email from us on the day you clear all these audits. Your diploma will be mailed approximately 6 to 8 weeks after your conferral date or your final clearance date, whichever is later.
Note: the conferral date is not the same as the graduation ceremony or commencement. The university holds one commencement ceremony each year in June for all students who were conferred in the previous 12 months.
