Association for Women in Science

The purpose of AWIS is to champion the interests of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics across all disciplines and employment sectors. Working for positive system transformation, AWIS strives to ensure that all women in these fields can achieve their full potential.

Process:

Visit the AWIS website to join. Upload a copy of your paid receipt to the Office of Student Affairs to be added to the chapter's roster.

The Association of Women in Science achieved PLATINUM standing per the university's Chapter Standards program. Platinum standing demonstrates the highest level of chapter involvement and denotes excellence in chapter leadership and member engagement.

Campus leadership opportunities are a great way to meet other students, alumni, and faculty at the university while also developing skills in the areas of:

  • Administrative and project management
  • Organizational knowledge and strategy
  • Critical thinking and reflection
  • Communication skills
  • Leadership and teamwork

The Office of Student and Alumni Affairs is always looking for people to get involved and be campus leaders, including chapter officers, who lead student organizations like this one. If you are a student in our STEM program or a related field, you are eligible for membership. Membership will be actively sought during the months of May and November.
